Two challenges, two sketches and lots of circles

Hi Everyone!

When I heard that Beate was going to be doing her Weekend Sketch Challenges again, I was so happy! I have missed doing them on Fridays and was eager to see what her first new one would be. I should have known that she would choose something with circles! As soon as I saw it, I thought, "Yep, Beate's back!" For this card I chose Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel. I stamped the background of the card first and then added the two larger circles. Before I adhered the to the base, I punched out 1"circles in chocolate chip and riding hood red and added them to the back of each circle to create a scalloped look. I colored the owl in with aqua painters and ink and then cut him out before placing him on the branches. Finally I added the eyelets and the Kanji "Wisdom" sentiment that I punched out with the tag punch. I thought the owl and the wisdom went well together.
Next for today, is the sketch challenge for Our Creative Corner. Circles is definitely the theme for today! I designed the card around the pattern paper, which unfortunately, I don't really know where it came from. I chose Groovy Guava, Celery and Soft Sky for my coordinating colors. The butterfly image was inked first with Celery and then I rolled the edges with Guava. I actually flipped the circles a bit from the orginal sketch because otherwise my little buzzing bee sentiment didn't sit correctly.
Ok, so that's all for me today. Be sure to check out all the other OCC entries for today and I'll see you all for Mojo Monday!
