Hello Beautiful!

Hello Everyone!

TGIF! I hope you have all had a good week. Mine has been good and rather productive. Spring seems to have finally arrived...maybe...hopefully!

I wanted to share this simple card I made today using Hero Arts Swirl Stencil. I have a few pictures to show you since I wanted to highlight a couple of things. I wanted it to have a softer tone, so I decided to use Kraft card stock as my base. This is Neenah Desert Storm and I cut it at 4 1/2 to make a top folding card. I cut another piece of 4 1/2 x5 1/2 as the front panel of the card and stenciled directly on that. I used some sponge daubers and added Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink to the center of the card. Now, here is where I made a rookie mistake...I didn't allow that white ink to dry thoroughly before adding the colored ink around the outside. The result turned out ok for the card...not so much for my ink pads; but it's only a little bit in the corner of the pads, so hopefully they'll be ok. I chose Simon Says Stamp Coral Reef, Beanstalk Green and Caribbean Blue for the ink colors.

Once I was done with the stenciling and inking, I die cut the sentiment using Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Cut set.  I cut the word out 5 times and then used my Xyron adhesive runner to layer them all together, resulting in a "faux" chipboard sentiment to put in the center. I added the "beautiful" which is from the same set underneath it. I just stamped it in Coral Reef ink, made a little flag end and then edged it with Carribean Blue ink.  For a final touch, I added some sequins around the stenciled area as well. When the front panel was complete, I adhered it to the card base with some foam adhesive.

A rather simple card, really; but I really like the colors on the Kraft card stock and that stencil is gorgeous! I can't wait to use it again.

That is all for me today. Thanks for visiting with me, have a great weekend; and I'll see you all again on Monday!
