WSC Challenge

***For my GH peeps, my weekly GH column is just below this post***

Hi Everyone!

So sorry for the late post. I've been in and out all day. Went to my mom's this afternoon for a while and spent some time there doing some stamping. It was great because I get to use her stamps, which are mostly things that I don't have, like this little girl. (I can't remember the name of the set; and no, I don't feel like looking it up right now!) I also got a chance to use some of her new Copic Markers. Yep, gotta get me some of them!
This is my card for this week's WSC challenge. The challenge was from Lori Craig. Be sure to check out her blog and the rest of the WSC challenge girls to get some inspiration for your own creation.
Ok, so that's all for me today. Have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday.

Friday GH Chatter

Hello all!

Time once again for my weekly dose of what's good and what's bad in PC; as well as giving you all the latest scoops and news that I've heard around the net this week.

--Happy to see Robin back. So far, so good. She does seem genuinely happy to be back with Emma. It'll be interesting to see if it stays that way. Isn't the baby who plays Emma too precious?! She reminds me of my own little dark-haired angel when she was a baby.
--So, now that Ethan isn't Luke's son (wink...wink) I wonder what will happen with him and Lulu? I actually like them together, so I really wish they weren't going to be related. Somehow though I think they are.
--Still loving the new Michael. Can't wait to see his hair. The scene in the hospital where he blew up at everyone really brought home the point that he's not a youngster any more.
--Monica and Edward always make me laugh.
--I liked the scene with Elizabeth and Rebecca. I always like it when Elizabeth gets to be a little fiesty since she's such a laid back sweet kind of girl.
--Agent Raynor was a pleasant surprise. I quite like Mark Pinter and hope he's used a bit more. Here's a thought: How about an actual real relationship for Alexis?
--Here's another thought: Sonny and Olivia...so much better than Claudia and Sonny or Johnny and Olivia.
--Gotta tell you, I was a little disappointed that Michael didn't react a bit more negatively to the news about Claudia and his Dad. Especially after the crap he gave his mother. Then again, I suppose that is what makes it all so interesting.

Ok, so what's the latest on the scoops and news?

***The truth about Rebecca is revealed. If you don't want to know, stop reading now!***

--Sorry ladies, the adorable Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) is officially off the market. He recently became engaged to his girlfriend, Kiera O'Neil (pictured here with him)
--Billy Dee William's return to Port Charles is an open ended role. There will be some discussion about a son and or a daughter, bringing mystery to his personal life.
--Rumor has it that the role of Dante has been cast.
--Alexis becomes entangled in a scandal involving the Mayor and his mistress, (yes mistress) Things get really complicated when the Mistress dies. What happens when Kristina gets involved?
--Could Matt be following his father's path...to alcholism?
--Kristina has no problem giving Sonny an earful.
--Micheal and Kristina bond deeply.
--Now onto the Rebecca: The truth is that she is Emily's twin sister; and has known this little fact the whole time.
--Lulu realizes somethings up between Ethan and Rebecca.
--Claudia discovers Olivia's secret.
--A new character, Dominic, comes to town. He's involved in one of Claudia's schemes. (pictured here)
--Crazy rumor: Either Jake or Cameron will die, sending Elizabeth off the canvas for a while. (mmm...believe that one when I see it!)
--Edward entices Michael with a big piece of ELQ to keep him away from the mob. Perhaps this will be the one time Edward and Sonny agree about something.
Ok, so that's all for me this week. Have a great weekend!

SCS sketch Challenge.

Good Morning!

Where would I be without sketch challenges?! Mmm...probably not stamping, that's for sure! I think the thing I love the most about them is 75% of the thinking is already done for me! This is my card for yesterday's SCS sketch challenge. I found a scrap of the DSP in my folder and built the card around that. The base of the card is actually Celery. I got the DSP a little close to the edge on the right side, so it's a bit hard to see in the picture. This was also the first time I got to use my new Nestabilities! Yes, I finally have a way to cut ovals! Yippee!! This is from the petite oval set. Everything else about the card is really straight forward. I spent most of the day yesterday reloading songs onto my iPod, so I'm off to be creative. Speaking of music, have you all seen this video on You Tube? K Werner posted it yesterday and I love it!!
Have a great day!

Midnight Madness Sketch #3

Good Morning!
It's time for week 3 of the new Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. This was super easy to do and a great sketch to work with. So, if you haven't tried it, I encourage you to break out your supplies and see where your creativity leads you.
For my card, I chose Ballet Blue for my base. I layered Certainly Celery and then So Saffron. The background of the So Saffron piece is the "Forever Flowers" in Ruby Ink. The center image is from "Fresh Cuts." I took two scalloped squares and put them together in the middle and then attached the sentiment from "Best Yet"
So, simple and easy; but I think it has a touch of elegance.
Have a great day!

Last Color Inspiration.

Good Morning!

Here is my card for this week's Color Inspiration from Kristina Werner. It is also my last color inspiration for the summer. Next week I will be packing up my stamp and scrap supplies. I have some cards that I will be pre posting next week to share with you; but this is my last week of doing challenges.
So, onto the card for today. This week's colors were Pacific Point, Yellow, Real Red, Black and White. I decided to use my Sushi Bowl set from Stampendous. I stamped the bowl in black ink and then did the all the inside fish, crab etc. Then I took my aquapainter and pacific point ink to fill it in. It made it a bit splotchy; but I decided that I liked that because to me, it makes it look more watery. I applied crystal effects to the fish, balloons and shells.
The rest is self explanatory. Have a great day and thanks for visiting with me!

Quick Mojo Monday

Good Morning!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday. Ours is starting out slow and relaxing; but is getting a bit busier now. Everyone slept a bit late this morning, so I had time to do Mojo Monday; and I wanted to share it with you really quick. It's all fairly straightforward. I used the rock n' roll technique on the butterfly from Garden Whimsy. If you haven't done this technique, this is a great stamp to try it with. I got a new white gel pen over the weekend, after being inspired by how much Kristina Werner uses hers. I have to admit, I can see why she uses it so much; it truly is fabulous.
Ok, so that's all for me. Have a great day and thanks for visiting with me!

Supplies:
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Taken with Teal, Black, White
Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Stitched Background, Itty Bitty Backgrounds.
Inks: Ruby Red, Olive, Black
Accessories: Cuttlebug embossing folder, white gel pen, brads, paper piercing tools

OCC Challenge: Sentiments

Hi Everyone!

Here is my card for today's OCC challenge. This week the challenge is to put focus on the sentiment of the card. I made this for a friend of ours who is retiring from the Marine Corps after an outstanding 20+ years of service. This family is special to us because when Reagan was first born and I had to return to work, his wife took care of her. It was great because they lived right next door to us and she was so great, which made me very grateful! We were fortunate enough to reconnect in Okinawa a few years ago, which just goes to show you that it really is a small world! I also thought it would be a good card to show since it's Memorial Day Weekend.
Have a great weekend!

WSC 82

Hi Everyone!

(**For my "General Hospital" peeps, my weekly GH chatter column is just below this post!**)

It's TGIF, which means it's time for another weekend sketch challenge. This one comes from Mary Jo. Be sure to visit her blog to see her sample. It's gorgeous! I noticed that the samples I saw with the sketch featured more of a square card than a regular sized card. I wasn't sure about the size, so I went with a 5 1/2x 5 1/2 card. It's all fairly straightforward. I did stamp the large white piece with the Fine Lace background stamp, which is a tad hard to see in the photo. The button has some turquoise wire through it. I hope you like it! Be sure to check out the other WSC samples from the other WSC girls: Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Sharon.
Have a great weekend!

General Hospital: Friday Chatter!

Hi!

I'm sorry I didn't have a column last week. Time just slipped away from me and then it was too late! So, let's jump right back in and see what's good and what's not so good in PC this week.

Ok, so I have to admit I'm really really liking the new Michael. At first, I had mixed feelings because I really thought the reunion scene with Sonny would have been a little more heartfelt if that had been Dylan Cash in the bed. On the other hand, when Sonny told Michael the truth about what happened, I thought they both did a superb job.
--Speaking of Michael, I know the kid just woke up and he's angry at Carly; but I gotta tell you I do feel sorry for Carly. No mother deserves to be treated that way by their own child. I was glad to see Sonny take a bit of an authoritative tone with him when he told Michael not to be mad at his mother.
--Have to admit I become more and more intrigued by the Rebecca mystery. I am anxious to see what happens with that.
--I think that Helena will be more involved in the Ethan mystery, than the Rebecca mystery.
--Did you catch the comment made by Holly about always liking the name "Emma"? I thought that was cute and clever. (Holly is played by Emma Samms)
--I've enjoyed the scenes with Sam and Jason as well.
--Not sure how I feel about the whole Johnny and Olivia thing.
--I also can't figure out why Sonny keeps showing up at Olivia's either.
--I liked the scene with Luke and Elizabeth. I thought she had some good points to make about Lucky.
--I was surprised to find out that Luke and Holly were just meeting for the first time.

Ok, so now on to the news and scoops that I've picked up on from around the net:

--Helena will return
--Sam continues to support and advise Jason
--Holly finally tells all just before she leaves town; but does she tell the truth?
--Claudia falls down the stairs. She also uses the baby to manipulate Sonny against Jason.
--Mercedes (the nanny) will be involved heavily in an upcoming storyline with Mayor Flloyd's wife (Martha Byrne)
--Michael doesn't just want to live with Sonny, he wants to work for him as well.
--Michael takes his anger out on Robin.
--Robin returns home and acts the opposite way she did before. She doesn't want to leave Emma's side.
--Michael collapses
--Do Ethan and Rebecca share a past?
--The truth about Rebecca will be revealed the week of June 1st
--Robin clarifies a few things for Ethan
--Rebecca and Elizabeth have it out.
--Julie Berman has reportedly been reading with potential Dante actors. Could this mean a storyline for Lulu and Dante?
Have a great week!

A New Sketch Challenge

Good Morning!

Yes, it's true; I have found yet another challenge on yet another blog and I have decided to jump right in and join. I mean, did I really think that I could possibly have enough challenges to do? Certainly not!! I love challenges and I love the way they inspire me to take my creativity to the next level. Of course, it doesn't do much for my domestic duties!
So, what is this new challenge? Why, I'm so glad you asked! It is the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC). This is only the second week and they have an incredibly awesome prize for it as well. Be sure to visit Priscilla's blog and read all the details.
For my card, I chose a Really Rust base to start. I also decided to try my hand at paper weaving, as illustrated in my latest copy of Stampin Success. It was a bit tricky at first; but I do like the results. I chose two pieces of artichoke out of my designer series hostess pack. It is a bit hard to see, since I ended up covering it up. I will definitely have to keep that technique in mind when I know more of the background is going to show. There were alot of elements to the sketch and so I did the best I could do get them all in there. (Sometimes, I can't help but think measurements in a sketch would be nice!) I also chose Mellow Moss, Groovy Guava and Blush Blossom for my colors. This color combination made me think of a western theme, so I thought it would be good to ink up my "Howdy Girlfriend" Sophia from Paper Pretties, which I've not used in forever. The rhinestone elements in the bottom corner are just something I picked up from the sewing section at Wal Mart yesterday. The middle one is actually green, which matches the green very well in the card; but for some reason it looks silver in the photo.
Anyhow, I hope you have a chance to play along with this sketch as well. I'm off to do something productive, so that I can get back to doing something creative! Have a great day, and thanks so much for visiting with me!

Supplies:
Paper: Really Rust, Designer Series Paper, Groovy Guava, Blush Blossom, Mellow Moss
Ink: Always Artichoke, Groovy Guava, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust
Stamps: "Howdy Girlfriend" (Paper Pretties)
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Blender Pens, Aqua Painters, Mellow Moss, Really Rust, Creamy Caramel markers. Cuttlebug and Traffic Jam embossing folder.

Pick a Petal Color Challenge (and a scrap paper tip)

Good Morning Everyone!

I wanted to get my card posted for today before I leave to go get T from school. It seems as though if I don't post before lunch, then it's way late in the afternoon before I get around to it. Today's card is for the SCS color challenge. The colors are Only Orange, Rose Red and Brilliant Blue. I decided to use Pick a Petal and cut each petal out before attaching them to the white piece. I was unsure about where to put the sentiment, so I decided to go sideways with it, which I thought added a bit of a unique touch. It was super easy to put together and took no time at all really.

Now, before I go, let me share a helpful tip with you. If you are like me, you have a ton of scrap paper laying around. Everyone has their own preferred method for storing scraps, which is fine. How, though do you keep from getting overloaded? Last night, I realized that my scrap folder was jam packed and I really needed to organize it. So, I decided to go through it and take out the pieces that could be cut into card base sizes. As a result, I ended up with about 22 card base pieces.
Now, when I go to start a card, I just choose from that pile (as I did with today's card) and use it as my base. I was able to get a variety of sizes as well. (If you think all cards have to be 5 1/2 by 4 1/4, watch some of KWerner's videos!) Now, my scrap folder is much lighter, I save my whole sheets for when I really need to use them.
That's all for me today! Have a great day everyone, and thanks for visiting with me.

Color Inspiration Mojo

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was very busy including a bowling birthday party for my son on Saturday and a family trip to Pet Smart to get the dog groomed. It just so happens that Michaels is next to Pet Smart! So...I gobbled up some goodies there. However, I have to tell you that the best part of being at Michaels was DH's reaction of "Hey, this isn't just some girly craft store." as he's perusing the train aisle and models car and airplane section with the boys. Anyhow, I needed some time to catch up on a few things yesterday, so I apologize for not posting.
My card for today combines the Mojo Monday sketch and this week's Color Inspiration. This week's colors are Baja Breeze, Mustard, Saffron, Sahara Sand and White. Kristina has kept her rule of not adding or taking away any of the colors. I didn't add any more colors as far as paper; but did decide to add some green color to the leaves around the watering can image. The image is from Our Craft Lounge. The tag is from a retired SU set, that I don't remember the name of; but it seemed to fit the card. I hope you all like it. Take care, and have a good day!

Supplies:
Paper: Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze, Designer Series Print Pack, Saffron, Mustard
Stamps: Sweet Sentiments (SU), Garden Thoughts (Our Craft Lounge)
Inks: Baja Breeze, Mustard, Cocoa
Accessories: Stampin Pastels, Blender Pens, Cuttlebug/embossing folder

OCC Color Challenge and Reagan's card (and story)

***If you are receiving updates for my blog via email and have experienced any difficulty, please let me know***

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great Saturday afternoon. It's been pretty low key for us this morning. My son's bowling birthday party is later this afternoon; but I thought I would post my card for today's OCC challenge, which was to use Regal Rose, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. I also used the SCS sketch challenge from Wednesday because I had not had a chance to do it yet. I started with a Regal Rose base and then added the Bashful Blue which I first embossed using the
cuttlebug folder. Then I stamped the celery piece with the flower stamp from basic backgrounds. The main image is from the retired SU set "Fruit Stand" and I stamped it with brown ink and then used blender pens and chalks to color it in. I added the green eyelets to the blue paper and then assembled it all together. I added the faux stitch lines with a Pretty in Pink marker and the pink tags in the corner to finish it.
The next card I have to share with you is a card my daughter made last night. I must digress and tell a small story with it as well; and I hope you will indulge me.
On Thursday, she came home with a less than stellar weekly school report. Her teacher sends home her papers and gives any behaviour evaluations as well. As a result of her marks and teachers comments she has been grounded with no tv until next Friday. DH got called into work, so after the two little dudes went to bed, she sat in the living room with me and stamped. We turned off the tv and talked for about 2 1/2 hours. The next thing I knew it was 10:00. Now, I didn't get anything done; but I had a great time chatting and talking with my special girl. I told her that I would post her card today. I hope you like it.
Have a great day and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

We Have a Winner!!

Random. org chose #8 for a winner. Congrats to Cheryl for winning all the loot! Cheryl, if you'll send me your snail mail address I'll get this all boxed up and ready to send to you by the end of next week. You can click on my profile to get my email address.
Thanks so much for sharing in my creativity.
Have a great weekend everyone!

WSC and Candy Reminder!

Hello!

TGIF everyone. Before I get to my card for today, I just want to remind everyone about the blog candy. I will be drawing the winner and announcing it a bit later this afternoon. Probably around 4:00pm. Once again, I'm in a hurry so I'm going to quickly post my card for today's WSC challenge. This week's sketch was hosted by the ever adorable Charmaine. Love that Oodabug Alley girl! She makes the most adorable projects. Hop on over and take a look if you get a chance.
Anyhow, my card super simple. I used Ruby Red, NQ Navy, Baja Breeze and Cameo Coral for my color palette. I opted not to put the circle in the bottom corner like it is in the sketch, since I put a circle in the center of my card. I decided instead to just put a little ribbon bow there. All in all I think it came out fairly decently. What do you all think?
Ok, that's all for me. Be sure to check back later for the candy results!

Sometimes Simple is Best

Good Morning!

Don't forget to sign up for my blog candy! (and check out the new sidebar with other opportunities for blog candy!)

Just a quick card today, on my way out the door in just a moment to pick up the boys. This is for yesterday's SCS sketch challenge. I decided to just do something quick and easy today, without a lot of frills and flair. I know sometimes I am guilty of trying to see just how much I can fit on a card. It's all pretty straightforward, so I don't think there's a lot of need for explanation. Have a great day!

Sushi Anyone?!

Hello!

Don't forget to sign up for my Blog Candy!!

I hope you are all doing well today. I have been busy packing and sorting things for our move next month. I try to do a little bit every day, just so that it's not quite so overwhelming when it's time to go.
Of course, I made some time to stamp this morning, however! I was going through my binder of clear stamps and saw my "Sushi Platter set" from Stampendous and realized that it had been entirely too long since I've inked it up. I also wanted to do the SCS color challenge yesterday using Kiwi Kiss, Only Orange and Summer Sun. Those colors made me think of summer, which made me think of the ocean, which made me think of fish. See how it all came together? This set is one that I really like; but don't use often simply because I have a hard time figuring out how to color the images. Today I decided to stamp the images and then used masks to cover up the areas before sponging bashful blue over it. I also used a bit of Orange and Olive ink around the edges for a bit of contrasting color. Like I said I'm still experimenting with it; but that's ok...experimenting is good! I think that I will probably try to do some more with it tomorrow, depending on what the WSC is.
Ok, so I'm off to do some layouts and some more packing. Have a great day!

Doesn't anybody want my candy!!

I'm extending the deadline for blog candy until Friday. All you have to do is sign up to follow my blog, link it to your blog and leave me a comment. Come on people! I mean it's free stuff, who doesn't like free things! Right now, I only have 7 people interested. There just has to be more of you out there! I know that it's hard to see everything here; but trust me there's a ton of stuff here!

(ok, so now onto my post for today!)

Don't tell my hubby but...

I think I've found another irresistible creature to love and his name is Riley! Maybe some of you know him. I myself have just been introduced to him; but I know why so many other people are captivated with him. I can't wait to buy more of him!
This is also my card for yesterday's Mojo Monday sketch, which was really easy to work with. The color combination came from this really cool site that I found on a blog. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the blog; but I bookmarked the link and I refer to it very often when trying to figure out color combinations. I tried to pull a common theme with the dots in Riley's chair, thus the swiss dots CB background and I also used my set of retired frames from SU. I don't remember the name of the set; but it worked, so that's all that matters, right?!
What's interesting is that the pink on the cupcake looks like pink passion; but I actually colored it in with a cameo coral marker to match the coral paper at the bottom. So, that's all for me today. Have a fantastic day everyone!

Gotta love new stamps!

Good Morning Everyone!

Remember to ***Read about my blog candy***!!! Lots of stuff to give away.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a fabulous mother's day. Mine was absolutely perfect. I got my traditional breakfast in bed with gifts and flowers. It's the only day of the year my husband cooks for me and it's always an omelet and toast; and it's always the best omelet in the entire world!! Then we spent the rest of the day with my sisters, my mom and the rest of my family.
I got a chance to do the OCC challenge this morning. The sketch has an oval in it. (I really need to get some sort of oval cutting device!) I decided to replace that with a square piece with rounded corners. I also used my brand new stamps from Our Craft Lounge. This set is called Garden Thoughts and it is so pretty! I love it and I can't wait to play with the rest of it. I noticed the other day that I had a ton of Really Rust cardstock that I had not used in a while, so I decided to build the card around that. I chose Bordering Blue, Mellow Moss and a piece of Bazzil textured cardstock for my colors. I stamped the mailbox main image in cocoa ink and then used my watercolor pencils, blender pens and markers to color it in. I used my color spritzer tool on the Rust background before adding each of the layers. Nothing really fancy; but I like the way it turned out.
So, that's all for me today. I plan to work on some layouts and also try to do the Mojo Monday sketch as well, which I will post tomorrow morning. Have a good day and thanks for visiting with me!

Not the Prettiest Moose...

but he sure is cute isn't he!! This is my first Riley stamp. I was so excited when he came in the mail yesterday. I also got another one and hopefully I'll get a chance to play with him one day next week. This is my card for yesterday's WSC, hosted by the uber talented Cambria. Wow, it's so hard to believe that there have been 80 WSC challenges. I really like this sketch and plan to put it in my sketch book, so that I can do it again.
This fun summer Riley stamp made me think of bright bold colors, so that's why I chose the color palette that I did. I used some retired SU pattern paper and coordinated the other colors around that. I had a bit of a hard time coloring in Riley. I'll just have to play with him and find a technique that I like. For this one, I chose to stamp him on watercolor paper and then used inks, pencils and aquapainters to fill him in. Anyhow, I hope you like it. I've got a busy day ahead, and I'm not even dressed yet, so I guess I better get going. I've seen the OCC challenge for this morning; but I'm going to have to wait until Monday to do that.
Have a good weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Supplies:
Paper: Only Orange, Pink Passion, Green Gable, SU ret Pattern
Stamps: Riley, Cheers to You, Mark the Date
Accessories: corner punch, markers, aquapainters, red ribbon, pencils

Color Inspiration #51.

Remember to ***Read about my blog candy***!!! Lots of stuff to give away.

Good Morning!

Before we get started for today, I'll mention that this week's Friday GH Column is just below this post.

It's time once again for another weekly Color Inspiration from Kristina. A big congratulations to all of the winners she selected for last week's big CI 50 celebration. This week the colors are Chocolate Chip, Mustard, Rose Red and White. Kristina also kept the rules from last week of not being able to add or take away any of the colors. For me this wasn't a problem; although I was tempted to use some saffron as a card base. I decided to go with white as the card base which you can't really tell in this picture. So, I guess you'll just have to take my word for it! (LOL!) I used an image from my Clear Dollar Stamp set "Ageless Antiques." I embossed the image with brown ink and clear embossing powder and then watercolored the inside of the image with my aqua painters and ink pads. This is also my card for Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge. I replaced the oval with the flowers mainly because I have absolutely no way to cut an oval, so I try to avoid using them if at all possible.
So, that's all for me today. Have a good day until then, and be sure to visit some other blogs if you get a chance!

Friday GH Chatter

Well. another week has come and gone in our favorite city of Port Charles. Let's dish shall we?

--So what will it be do you think? JASAM, LL2 or LIASON? Have I mentioned before that I really am a Liason fan? I have to admit however, that the scenes with Jason and Sam as well as Lucky and Elizabeth were nice to see. I really hope, however that they do something different with the characters and the relationship than the last time they were together
--Did you see that little spark between Olivia and Sonny?
--I think that Ric has finally come into his dark side.
--Can you really picture Claudia as a Mom?
--I know that it sounds like Sonny has so many children; but when you stop and think about it, he really only has 3: Morgan, Kristina, Dante(which he doesn't know about) and then possibly this baby with Claudia.
--I really hope that Spinelli and Maxie figure out a way to be friends again, because I really don't think I like Spinelli being mean to anyone, not even Maxie.
--Who do you think the Crimson Sabatoger is?
--So Ethan isn't Luke's son. Can't quite decide if that's good or bad. Definitely a good thing as it relates to a possible Lulu/Ethan union. However, I have to admit he really is too much like Luke to not have Spencer in him.
--Personally, I think that Lucky is being a bit immature about the whole Ethan thing.
--Once again, not envious of Carly's position with the whole Michael situation.
--Kudos to Jason for telling Carly the truth. She's is mom and deserves to know and to be the one to make the decison.
--I don't envy Claudia in that waiting room.
--Why doesn't anybody knock when they walk into one of the rooms above Kelly's?

Now, what's going on around the net and in the magazines.

--The biggest news this week that I've heard is that the new Morgan and Kristina have both been cast. (pictured here) Lexi Answorth will play the new 16 year old Kristina and Morgan , who is being aged to 12 will be played by Aaron Refvem. Both of these young actors are new to daytime; but have impressive primetime experience, including Grey's Anatomy, The Cleaner and Gilmore Girls.
--You'll see "more" of Max and Diane than you ever thought you would!
--Edward and Rebecca have a heartfelt moment.
--Claudia has more reason than ever to hope that Michael survives. Ric declares that he will tell Sonny the
truth if Michael dies.
--GHH is reporting that Rick Hearst (Ric) will be leaving the show. His last airdate will be sometime in the latter part of June. Rumor has it that Ric will be returning to "The Bold and the Beautiful"
--Jason will confront Claudia about Michael
--Holly gives Luke conflicting information.
--Despite any rumors, Kirsten Storms (Maxie) is not leaving GH
--Tony Geary (Luke) will be leaving for his annual vacation soon; but he has taped episodes that will air at least until the middle of June.
--The casting is still in full swing for Dante. Apparently right now, another name being tossed around is EJ Bonilla (Rafe, GL). It does not appear as thoughTom Pelphry or David Lago will be stepping into the role, however.
--I have to say that I agree with the ABC SID issue that pointed out that it would be nice if someone actually gambled at the Haunted Star every once in a while. At this point, I think that Kelly's is probably doing better business than the Haunted Star!
--Kristina will be in trouble a lot. Especially when she makes eyes for Jason!
--Emmy noms will be announced May 14th
--Remember all pictures are courtesy of GHOFS.

One for the Little Girls!

Good Morning!

Once again I will remind you to ***Read about my blog candy***!!! Lots of stuff to give away. I didn't think it would be this hard to give it away! Is there a blog candy give away secret I don't know about?!

Now, onto today's card. This is actually for Tuesday's SCS color challenge to use Cameo Coral, Ballet Blue and Garden Green. I also added a bit of Ruby Red and Celery as well. I recently ordered another set of stamps from Our Craft Lounge. (Don't you just love Cambria's blog!) If you haven't been there, be sure to check out the link on the right. Well, that got me thinking about the other set of OCL stamps I have that I won a while back. I haven't used it in a while and I thought it would be nice to ink it up. I'm going to send this to a group of little girls in my Sunday School class that I will miss dearly when we move to RI this summer.
Originally, I didn't have any design on the Coral background piece; but then decided that it was just a bit plain. I added the grid pattern with my bone folder and my Coral marker. It's pretty simple; but I think the little girls will like it.

Have a great day!

Mother's Day Gifts

***Read about my blog candy and be sure to follow the directions!!***

Good Morning!
I'm giving away
So, I have just a few more mother's day gifts and cards to share with you. Bear with me, there will only be two more to show you tomorrow. I was going to put them all here today; but couldn't figure out a way to fit all the pictures in here without the entire post looking to willy wonky!
I will be giving these to each of the moms who will be at my sister's house for mother's day luncheon on Sunday. I tried to coordinate the cards with the little gift boxes that I made. In each box I am putting some chocolates, a small package of gourmet coffee and some hand lotion. Just a little something for everyone. Since there are five of them pictured, I don't think I'm going to go into all the details for each of them. I think you can see that most of them are fairly straightforward. The cards are actually all ones that I've posted here before at various different times as well. I am sorry for the strange layout of the post. It was hard to figure out how to stage everything since I had so many pictures. Anyhow, I hope you all like all of them. Have a great day everyone!

A Milestone and Some Candy!!

Do you know what this is a picture of? Guess! Can you can guess? Blog Candy!!
Blog Candy, did you say? Why, yes that's exactly what I said!
In honor of reaching 1o,000 hits on my blog I am giving away this entire collection of candy. In addition I am also giving away so me of my own personal card creations in a gift box as well. There is a ton of stuff here, a lot of it wouldn't fit into the picture; but I hope it gives you an idea of what could be arriving in your mailbox!!
Ok, so how do you win all this loot? Simple, all you have to do are the following three things:
1.) Sign up to follow my blog. 2)Provide a link to this post on your blog; 3) Leave a comment here for me on this post, telling me either your favorite technique or your favorite blog to visit or both. (one entry per person, please!)
So, that's it. I will announce a winner next Tuesday, May 12 at 3pm (EST). Good luck!

Serene Spring Mother's Day

Good Morning!

Yes, I have yet another Mother's Day card to share with you today. No, it's not the last one you'll see this week either! I mean really, what have you been working on?! LOL! I actually made this a couple of days ago. This is the card for DH to give to his mom. He's actually visiting her right now, so I wanted to get it done before he left. She likes blue a lot so I tried to incorporate various different shades into the design. This card also uses the old SU hostess set "Serene Spring" which is one of favorite sets and I really wish that it was a regular set, because I know a lot of other people that liked it and wished they had it as well. Don't you wish that when SU came out with the retired list, that they would offer customers the chance to buy the hostess sets, just at that one time of year?
Anyhow, I used my chalks and blender pens to color in the image. I wanted to keep it soft, and I thought those would work best. I also used my Cuttlebug for the mustard piece. Have I told you how much I really like my CB!
Ok, so that's all for me today, except to tell you that you may want to stop back by a bit later again, for a special surprise!

Supplies:
Paper: Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, Mustard, Vanilla
Stamps: Serene Spring, Spunky Greetings (CTMH)
Accessories: Cuttlebug, mustard eyelets, Stampin Pastels, Blender Pens

Mojo Monday with a New Technique.

Hello again!

I'm back again. If you missed my first entry today, scroll down to find it after this post. Boy, have I been busy this morning! I got three boxes packed with stuff in my bedroom (we're moving to RI in June), did some laundry and even had time to do today's Mojo Monday. This was a hard sketch to work with this time, I thought, because there were so many layers to it. Sometimes I wonder if everyone else is making the same size cards I am because I always feel like I'm running out of room. This card is a bit bigger than a normal size card; but I just couldn't figure out a way to make all those layers fit otherwise.
I combined the sketch with today's SCS technique challenge Embossed Wax Paper Resist. This was a very simple technique and a lot of fun. On my card it is the Groovy Guava piece. One note about this technique if you haven't tried it yet. After you run your wax paper through your Cuttlebug or Big Shot (or whatever other machine you are using) make sure that when you iron the two pieces of Glossy Paper together that you pick up the iron and then set it back down again. Don't slide it around like you would when you iron normally. I did that the first time and my designed smeared and looked really bad.
I felt like there were so many things going on with this card, that I opted to keep the center very simple with just a sentiment.
Ok, so that's all for me today. (really!) I off to do some blurfing for just a few minutes. Have a great day.

WSC Hola Chica

Good Morning!

Did you all have a good weekend? Ours was good. R's party was lot's of fun; and I was very thankful that it was at another location other than my house because it was nice to just be able to come home and unpack the presents and leftover cake and not have a lot of mess to clean up. DH is currently out of town for a couple of days, so my mom stayed with me last night and we had a bit of a girls night. We did some stamping, had some wine and watched the movie "Bride Wars."
Sunday was a pajama day! Don't you love those? I got a lot of stamping done as well as it relates to working on my mother's day projects. I'm going to try to take some pictures of the projects and post them this week. I just have to figure it out with the camera, since they are 3D projects and I can't scan them. I have a hard time with the camera because I never seem to find the right place in the house to take the picture as it relates to lighting etc.
Ok, so enough about that. Let's get today's card. This is for Friday's WSC and also for Thursday's WTC challenge on SCS to use black cardstock. I got this new stamp from Paper Pretties last week also, and thought this would just be the perfect time to use it. The other colors I chose were Kraft, Pomegranate and Pumpkin Pie. I really wanted to keep the black as a dominant color which is why I chose to do part of the dress in it as well. I colored her in with markers, ink pads and blender pens. I did color her skin in a bit with some blush blossom ink; but it's hard to see in the picture. Ok, so that's all for me for now. I'm going to try to do Mojo Monday a bit later, so until then have a good morning!

Friday GH chatter:

***I posted a card today as well. Scroll down to see that post***

--Leave it to Maxie to annoy Jason enough to snap him right back to a conscious state!
--So what do you think? Claudia's baby: Ric or Sonny's.
--I actually kinda wish we hadn't seen the new Michael yet. I wish they would have waited until he woke up
--I thought the intervention with Robin was good. I think that KM and JT were great in that scene. I've really liked them during this storyline. I think they've both done some great acting.
--Did you catch the part where Sonny called Jax a "big Dingo"!
--Speaking of Jax and Sonny. Wowzer, never saw the punch coming, did you? Sometimes the intensity between them is so real, I wonder if Ingo and Maurice really are friends. I'm sure they are...
--I was a bit disappointed with the Liz/Nikolas kiss. I was actually looking forward to it; but it was so completely "high school drama" that I felt like I was watching an old episode of 90210!
--Still, I have to admit that Liz and Nikolas at Jake's together was a bit more amusing and intriguing. I'd never really thought about them before; but I have to tell you I could see that seed planted.
--Not really sure how I feel about the whole Rebecca/Lucky kiss. I have to admit it was a bit wierd, what did you guys think?
--I'm glad to see Matt being utilized more. I think he's a good addition to the story and I really hope they give him some more substantial story soon.
--So, what do you all think about Ethan? Ok, besides the fact that he needs a haircut. Do you really think Holly is his mom? I don't know if Luke is his Dad; but at least we know that he's not Sonny's kid! Personally, I think he ought to be Coleman's kid!
--Speaking of Coleman, I loved the fact that he referred to Rebecca as "Emily the sequel chick"
--

News from around the Net

--Martha Byrne who played Lily on ATWT is coming to GH. She will be playing Andrea, Mayor Floyd's wife.
--Maxie and Lulu try to reconstruct their friendship.
--Kelly Monaco's (Sam) was home when intruders broke into her Las Vegas home. She was not harmed during the robbery...thank goodness!
--Look for Sonny's house to get a remodeled look in the near future as Claudia dives into redecorating it.
--Johnny and Olivia? Maybe...
--Whose baby will live and whose will die?
--Lucky and Liz clarify a few things and come to a decision
--Maxie doesn't get rescued by the one she wants...or does she?
--Somebody tries to bribe Rebecca to leave, much to Nikolas disappointment.
--Patrick will perform Michael's surgery; but the prognosis is grim.
--Kate has a secret and Spinelli discovers what it is.
--Robert Scorpio will probably make an appearance in conjunction with the Ethan story; but not for a while.
--Matt assists Patrick in Michael's surgery.
--Sonny and Carly share a touching moment during Michael's surgery.
--Michael remembers more than people think.
--Luke gets the DNA results; but thinks Tracy has tampered with them.
--Who is leaking top secret info about Crimson photo shoots?
--RUMOR has it that the mystery birth certificate that Helena has is Holly's, which means that if Ethan is Luke's son, Luke is the father of a Cassadine! (again, just a rumor!)
--Could Stephan be returning? Now that SN is no longer on DOOL? again another rumor!

One card for a Busy Day!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's taken me such a long time to post today. I've had a super busy day today that started with grocery shopping early this morning. Then T had a friend come over after school so I had 3 very energetic little boys running through my house for about 2 hours...not exactly conducive to stamping. I also had to get the party favors ready for R's birthday party tomorrow. Her birthday's not until August and yes, we're having a party tomorrow for her; but that's a whole other story.
I actually had a chance to do some stamping really really early this morning. This card was actually finished before 6:00 this morning. This is another Mother's Day card that I will be giving to my sister in law Jennifer. She is a mother of four and is constantly on the go. She's so pleasant, always keeps her humor, is carefree and is passionate about being a mom. I truly adore her and feel blessed that she is a part of my world.
This card was super easy to put together and is very self explanatory. I've got tons more things to do this afternoon before the DH and I leave for a social function this evening. I've seen the WSC sketch and do plan to work on that tomorrow sometime over the weekend and will share it with you on Monday.
As you can see also, I've changed the blog background for the new month. I decided to show my pride as a Marine Corps Spouse and to honor the hero in our family by going with a USMC themed background. It seemed like a fitting theme also since it's National Military Appreciation Month. I hope you like it!
Have a great weekend everyone!
