Thoughtful Thursday and the Pity Party Express.

It's been a long time since I've done a Thoughtful Thursday message here on the blog. I think this one is especially appropriate for me today as I contemplate whether or not I will continue to blog and maintain this website. *Spoiler Alert: this is about to get a tad whiny...and put upon....

Right now the numbers and traffic I have just doesn't justify the amount of time I put into it.

I wish I was a well known crafter with an awesome design team gig or worked for a great stamping company. I wish I had enough artistic talent or was business savvy enough to start my own business.

I wish people pinned my recipes

I wish people spent as much time leaving comments on my posts as I do travelling around the blogosphere and commenting, retweeting, repinning and +1 other people's posts.

Ok. I'll hop off the "Pity Party Express" now.

Seems I have a bit of thinking to do...

Blogging does take up a lot of time for sure. And although I love the creative part, the drudgery of taking photos, editing, uploading and writing a coherent post can seem like a job sometimes. However, I do like to reach out to people beyond my little world which so far has made it worth it. I don't know how long you have been blogging but it has taken me years to acquire a readership if that makes you feel any better. Good luck with your decision.

I have been blogging on and off and in various incarnations since 2009. At first, it started just as a crafting blog to share my cards and crafts; but then I started adding recipes to maybe reach a new and broader audience. Since I'm a SAHM, I also recently decided that maybe parenting would be a good thing to talk about as well.
I enjoy writing the things I do and I enjoy sharing them as well. When I'm not blogging, I'm usually always thinking about blogging and ideas for blogging. I think it's just human nature to want a little validation for your efforts, right?!
I guess I have to ask myself, am I blogging for me or for what I hope to be rewards and recognition?

Blogging really takes up so much time, and it can be so difficult to keep going with it sometimes because sometimes it doesn't feel worth it! But then when it's good it is really good, and feels amazing, i'm sure it'll seem worthwhile soon!
