Bleached Midnight Madness

Hi Everyone!

I hope your day is going well. I have been enjoying a relaxing morning catching up on last season's "Mad Men" before this season begins. It is such a good show! I've also been very creatively productive as well. I've actually stamped two cards this morning; but I'm saving one to share at a later date. The one I do have to show you today actually combines two challenges. The first being the MMC 14 challenge. Again, this is my first time back with this challenge and I enjoyed it very much. If you've not had a chance to check out Priscilla's blog, hop on over there. She has some amazing eye-candy, as well as other goodies to take a gander at. The second challenge I incorporated today was the SCS color challenge. This week's challenge was rather unique in that it combined a techinique as well, bleaching to be precise. I was a bit leery of this at first, because my experience with this technique has not often been successful. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained right? Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I decided to keep the colors few and simple, using only Kraft, Melon Mambo and Blush Blossom.
I learned through a bit of experimentation that bleaching outline images is a bit easier than whole images, which is why I chose this flower from Fifth Ave Floral. I also discovered that when bleaching, a light hand is key. I used my Oval Nesties and the Oval All stamp set for the sentiment and then finally added just a bit of decoration around the scalloped Kraft piece.
Happy stamping everyone and have a great day!
