First Monday Post

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was productive, both on the home front (cleaning for the house for four hours on Saturday) and on a stamping front. I actually finished two projects for SCS challenges. The first one I did was for Friday's LSC challenge. For this challenge the card had to monochromatic, the only images you could use were snowflakes and you had to had some bling or sparkle to your card. I uploaded my card to my SCS gallery. It came together easily and I was quite happy with how it turned out.
The second card I did was for Saturday's Inspiration Challenge. This was the first time that I had a chance to participate in this one; and it was a lot of fun. The challenge was to pick one of these pendants and make a card using it as inspiration. I chose this necklace and this is the card that I came up with. I also searched the SCS sketch archives and thought this sketch would work well for the colors and stamps I wanted to use. I chose Pumpkin Pie for my base and then put black on top of that. Then I took a piece of Pacific Point and cut it corner to corner, then I took a piece of Cool Caribbean and cut it the opposite way corner to corner. I stamped the Cool Caribbean piece with an image from Fresh Cuts. On the top piece of the Pacific Point I stamped the flower image, also from "Fresh Cuts". The sentiment at the bottom is from "Best Yet." Next, I assembled them on the black layer. The butterfly image I chose was from "Measure of Life", an old hostess set. I colored it with markers before stamping it on to a piece of Very Vanilla and mounting that on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie. Finally alternating black and turquoise eyelets finished the card.
I have two sketches/challenges that I plan to do today, including this week's Mojo Monday. Hopefully I will be able to get them uploaded today, so be sure to come back a little later. Until then, have a good morning!
