Going for the Round Mojo

Hi Everyone!

Here is my round card for yesterday's Mojo Monday. I will probably try the square version sometime this week as well. I am making sympathy cards for my card sets for the craft fair. I used Ruby Red, Soft Suede, Mustard and Olive for my colors. The image in the center is from a retired SU set called "Serene Spring" I stamped it in Soft Suede ink and then used my blender pens with chalks and pencils to color it in. I used my SCAL software and Kwerner Card shapes Digital Cutting kit for all the circles. The sentiment at the bottom is from Hero Arts "Everyday Sayings" and I stamped it in Suede ink. I added the ribbon along the center and finished the card with the prima flower.
That's all for me today. If you missed my post yesterday, check it out here. I posted 5 cards and would love to know what you think!
Have a great evening, see you soon!!

HOT HOT Betty!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry to be posting so late today. I have been busy today playing with my new OCL stamps "Hot Betty." She is so adorable!!! I made two cards with her and will be posting my other one in the OCL gallery over at SCS. I made another circle card using the same digital cutter kit from Kristina Werner that I used for yesterday's card. My color palette is Old Olive, Rose Red and Teal. I inked Betty in Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink and then used Copics, water color pencils and water color crayons to color her in. I stamped the "5 0'clock" sentiment in olive ink and the "Let's Toast" in another chalk ink. Unfortunately, it photographed really light. I can't wait to play some more with this set, there are so many possibilities!! Have a great evening and I'll see you tomorrow!

The Simple and not So Simple Circle Card.

Hello!! I'm back...did you miss me!! I hope so, cause I sure missed all of you. It was hard not to stamp for a couple of weeks. I think we all get used to doing it so often that not doing it feels as though part of our day is missing, doesn't it? I knew however, that I really needed to take some time away from the inks because I could tell that I was just going through the motions and my creativity was really lacking.
So, what did I do during my two week hiatus, you ask? Well I spent most of it reading (rather obsessively) on my new B&N Nook. If you're not familiar with it, it's their version of the Amazon Kindle e-reader. I am totally in love with it. It is soooooo wonderful. If you are thinking about getting it; but aren't quite sure, stop wondering...buy it!! I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

I also bought the Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) software for my cricut and 3 new digital cutter kits from the Two Peas store. If you are a Kristina Werner fan (and really....who isn't!?!) these items will be familiar to you. I'm still learning a lot with it; but I'm having tons of fun with it. Yesterday I made this circle frame card using the "Card Shapes Designer Cuts kit" I did the outer circle in Bashful blue and the darker one on top is Brilliant Blue. The printed vellum window in the center is from a package of SU printed vellum that I've had for eons and can't seem to get rid of; but also can't seem to find a use for. The stamp in the middle is from a package I got in the clearance rack at Michael's. I added the white stitching around the edges and the ribbon at the top and the card was done.
So, as I said, trying to get back into the swing of things. During my little break I made some random sketches and designed a few more cards with my SCAL; but haven't actually put anything together yet. Therefore, I will not be participating this week in the usual weekly challenges, but am going to take this time to explore my own creativity a bit and share those things with you. I can't wait to see what you've all been up to while I've been away!!
Have a great day!!
