Smile if you love squares

Good Morning!

I am posting early this morning, since DH has the day off and I hope to be able to just spend some time hanging out with him after the kids go to school. I made this card yesterday for SCS Ways to Use It challenge. The challenge was to incorporate some type of patchwork into the card. I started with a 5 1/4 x5 1/4 square card base of Saffron and then added a 5 x5 piece of Red paper from My Minds Eye "Bohemia" collection. Then I cut 9 squares measuring 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 from the same collection of papers. I had a hard time deciding what to put in the middle, since I really wanted the focus of the card to be on the patchwork of squares. I decided to just go with some 5/8 Saffron Grosgain ribbon and then I used my scallop circle punch to cut the other side of the blue paper to get the polka dot scallop circle. I punched a 1" circle from Saffron and then stamped the image and sentiment from SU's bitty basics in Red ink. I attached it with some dimensional adhesive and finished the card.
So, I was really pleased with the way this came out. I hope you like it too! Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!
