Sharing Weekend Creativity

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was good. I got to go to a crop on Saturday; and even though I didn't have any layouts to work on I did get some Christmas cards finished. I also went out on a date with DH Saturday night. We went to dinner and then went and saw "Couples Retreat." It was really funny!
I did also get a chance to work on some cards this weekend. My first card here is for the OCC sketch challenge. I started with a Old Olive base and then added a layer of Mustard that I had embossed with the Swiss Dots Folder. Next, I put on the two Rose Red mat squares. For the one in the back I added a piece of Old Olive that I embossed with the birds and swirls folder. The main image is from Upsy Daisy and is stamped in Rose Red ink on vanilla cardstock. I decided that the vanilla looked a little too "clean" and stark on the card, so I decided to sponge some mustard, olive and rose red ink on it. I stamped the sentiment on one of the Lots of Tags dies that I got recently and then layered it onto an oval that I cut with nestabilities.
The second card is considerably simpler. I have been dying to use my new Medallion Stamp and wanted to just put something together quickly. This card was actually put together while I was standing at the washing machine waiting for a load of clothes to finish drying. How's that for multitasking! I started with Pixie Pink base and added the medallion stamp in Pixie Pink ink. The sentiment on the bottom is from "Sweet Little Sentiments" I stamped it in Whisper White Craft ink and I should have used my stamp a ma jig because it is a bit crooked. I used my white gel pen to add some zing to the card. I really wanted it to be a single layer card; but decided that the middle of the medallion needed something, so I decided to try out my new floral fusion dies that I got from SU as well. I added a little pink bling in the middle to finish the card, although when I scanned it, it came out looking silver.
Ok, so that's all for me today. We are going to spend the day in Boston doing some sight seeing. Hope you all have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!
