Back to Stamping, Beate's Break and the Daytime Emmy's

****update**** Some of my pictures of my cards, seem to have mysteriously disappeared from my blog. Will try to fix and get them back up for viewing. Not sure what that's all about; but I'm sure it's something that I did! LOL

Good afternoon all!

I wanted to have something to post here with Beate's weekend sketch, so that is why it's taken me a bit longer to post today. Well, after two days of making cards without stamps, I must admit I was very glad to get back to my ink pads. It's kind of a trade -off actually. On the one hand, assembling a card that uses no stamps is less time-consuming; but coming up with the ideas and the coordinating elements etc takes FOREVER! Then again, the ideas and elements seem to flow easily together with stamping; but the execution can be a bit lengthy depending on the technique you are using.
So, if you ever think that you are bored with your stamps or you're using the same ones over and over again, take a break and spend a few days making cards without them...trust me you'll look at them in a whole new light!

Today is Friday, and that of course means, it's time for some challenges. This is Beate's weekend challenge. It was fun to make a card using this size. Don't often use this one, and I enjoyed the change. Speaking of Beate, in case you weren't aware, she has decided to take a bit of a break. (well deserved, I might add)Therefore, this will be her last weekend sketch until mid-August. Stamp Something has also posted a sketch for their weekly challenge. I've not completed this one yet today; but am going to try to do this afternoon or tomorrow and will post on Monday. KWerner has also posted her color inspiration challenge. One of the colors is Sahara Sand, which I don't have. I may see if I can find a comparable color so I can play along.
Finally, all my GH fans, don't forget tonight is the Daytime Emmys!! 8:00pm on ABC. I've already told my husband that yes, we are going to watch it in it's entirety! I'm bummed that not more of my GH favorites are nominated (Tyler Christopher, Steve Burton, Laura Wright)Still, can't wait to see the montage they've put together for best show.
Speaking of GH, I wanted to again extend a personal thanks to Sarah Brown (Claudia) for responding to an email I sent her and to thank her for the donation she is making to the "A taste for A cure" cancer fund raiser being held tomorrow evening. Sarah is making a donation in honor of my father who passed away from head and neck cancer on February 29. My mother and I were both honored that our story touched her so deeply and are grateful for her response to us.
That's all for me folks! Have a great weekend and as always thanks for visiting with me!
