Happy Dancing Penguins!

Hello Everyone!

I'm here today to share a fun birthday card I've made using Party Penguins and Your Birthday. I really wanted to use some bright, fun colors to make this card, so I decided to use pink, green, orange, yellow, aqua blue and white  I used a curved edge die for the yellow piece to add a little bit of interest for the front of the card.

I used an embossing folder to add some texture to the green background piece. I stamped the penguins in blank ink and used various Copic markers to color them in. I stamped the sentiment in orange ink before layering it on a piece of aqua card stock. I added some white stitching lines along with white sequins and silver stickles for some final touches.

That is all for today, I hope you have a great day and I'll see you all again soon!

Great Impressions Spring Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for visiting with me today, I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your weekend so far! It is time once again for a monthly challenge over at Great Impressions. This month, we want to see your Spring and/or Easter projects! We have a beautiful photo to help inspire you, which is what I did with my card by using the warm pastel colors to create a similar color palette.

I chose the Spring Floral Border stamp which I stamped in a dark brown ink and then colored in with some Copic markers. The sentiment is from Tags Rubber stamps stamped in Coral ink. I added some texture to the Kraft background piece with an embossing folder.

We have a great prize package for the winner of this month's challenge as well!

That is all for me today, I do hope you join us for our challenge this month. There are lots of Spring items available in the Great Impressions store as well! We can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Easter Tall Tulips

Good Morning Everyone!

I know some of you are still in the deep freeze of winter; but try to hold on...Spring is coming! I thought it would be a great idea to share a card to remind us that bright blue skies and sunny days are on their way! What better way to do that than to get a bit of a jump start on Easter cards.

For my card today, I chose a purple, green, grey and white color palette because I thought purple would be a perfect color for the "Tall Tulips" stamp set. I stamped the tulips in black ink and then colored them in with some Prismacolor pencils and blended with some oil and a blending stump. I stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment in Wilted Violet distress ink and added it at the bottom. There are so many great Easter and Spring stamps in the Great Impressions store! Go have a look and be inspired!

That is all for me today, however. Have a fabulous day and I will see you all again soon!

Copic Color Page and Combos

Hi Everyone!

One of the things I've been working on in addition to card making is just some relaxing coloring. I have one book that I'm currently making my way through at the moment, alternating between pages colored with Prismacolor pencils and pages colored with Copic Markers.
Now, I know this whole coloring book business is supposed to be relaxing and care-free and for me it is very relaxing. Still, the crafter and color coordinator in me can't just randomly color. There has to be planning involved. I know I'm not alone in this! I have been putting together some different Copic color combinations based on some color combos for other mediums that I have found on Pinterest and other places. I came up with some whimsical names for the combos because, let's face it...color combos are just so boring when you all you call them is "color combos"

So what I normally do is come up with 8-10 color combos and then plot them out on the page with little post it tape pieces. Planning this way actually helps the process of the actual coloring be more relaxing. Here is the final picture completed.

Here are the color combos I used. On a side note...I'm still trying to figure out the best way to group the photos together, so right now they're a little bit wonky. Sorry about that!

That is all for me today! Have a great day and I will see you all again soon!
