"Best Yet"

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I am sharing my card for yesterday's Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge. The image I used is a digital image from Guylou's Inimitability I copied it into Microsoft Word and then resized it so that I knew it would fit into the Label One Nestability that I wanted to use. I printed it out and let the image dry while I worked on the rest of the card. I started with a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Ocean Tide from PTI. I added a layer of Mostly Mustard that I embossed using the cuttlebug argyle embossing folder. I cut the Ruby Red piece using Label One Nestabilities. I colored the image using Copics: Y21,Y26,E07 (flowers) G24 (leaves) BG72, BG75 (Basket), G21, G24, E07, E09 (Apples). After I colored it in, I sponged the top with Soft Sky ink and then used my applicator to sponge on Weathered Wood and Tea Dye distress inks around the top and bottom. I also edged the bottom in "Vintage Photo" and also did the top with Weathered Wood again.

Dragonfly MMSC

Good Morning!!
Today I am sharing my card for this week's MMSC #69 sketch. I am using Priscilla's dragonfly image. The patterned paper on the card is from Basic Grey's Indian Summer Collection. The brown and rust color paper is from a pack of neutral card stock that I bought at Michael's. The yellow is Crushed Curry from Stampin Up! I used Petite Scallop Circles as well. I used a variety of Copic Markers to color in the dragonfly. I coated the wings with some crystal effects and then put a few pieces of bling on the wings to make it even prettier. This card fits the following challenges:

A White Mojo Monda

Hi Everyone!

Wow! Can you believe it? I'm actually posting my Mojo Monday card on Monday! I was able to get it all done before Jonathan got home from pre-school this morning. It was a really simple card as you can see. It's actually a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card. I like doing this size when I do a square card because it still fits inside a regular size envelope. I know it appears that it has a black base; but it really doesn't. The base is actually white. I actually photographed the card sitting on a piece of black paper. I was actually quiet pleased with the results. You all know, I don't usually photograph cards very well. The card really was simple, so I'm not sure it really needs a lot of detailed explaining. The flower in the middle is from SU's "Fifth Ave Floral". I stamped it in black ink and then used R35, R59 and C1 Copic Markers to color it in.

Cupcakes and Swirls

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Unusual post for me on a Sunday; but I figured since this card was actually completed Friday night, I thought why not, right?!
For this card, I used Kraft card stock from SU, Melon Berry and Aqua Mist from PTI and Luxury White from Gina K. This card fits a variety of challenges also:

1. Get Sketchy: Sketch 53
2. My Partner in Crafting Crime: "Food or Drink" Don't my cupcakes look yummy!
3. Papertake Weekly Challenge: A recipe: 3-2-1. I used 3 colors of card stock (I didn't count the white), 2 pieces of ribbon and 1 button.
4. A Crafty Little Place Challenge: This was another food challenge!
5. Stampavie and More: Use swirls. I used the Cuttlebug Swirls folder on the white piece
6. Totally Stampalicious: Texture-Licious. This challenge was to incorporate at least 2 types of texture. I used embossing and my cupcakes have swirly glitter icing on them that I did by swirling some glue on to the tops of them and then sprinkling a mixture of glitter and clear embossing powder and then I used my heat gun to set it.
