Good Morning Everyone!
How are you all today? I hope your day is going well and I am happy you're stopping by to take a look at my card for today. For Day 14, I created another longer style card. This a a fun size to do because it will fit into a greeting card size envelope, so you don't have to use a business class envelope. The card measures
6 1/4 x 3 1/2. My card is not as long as Kristina's
"Friends Warm the Heart" card, so I had to create a bit of a different scene as well. I did, however try to keep similar colors. Some people are not big on using pink for Christmas cards. I, however, love to use it! I'm not sure why, perhaps it just makes me think of sugar plum fairies, cookies and sweet holiday treats. I think I like using it because it makes me think of childhood memories of Christmas and also the innocence and wonder of my own children during the holiday season. Anyhow, no matter what the reason, I always jump at any chance
I get to use a bit of pink on a Christmas card. I also didn't have any red/white striped ribbon, so I used some baker's twine instead.I think it's a bit hard to see in the picture; but there is some sparkly fluff on the snowman in the scene, so he's all fluffy and adorable!!
The images for this cute little winter scene are from OCL's "Tweet Winter Wishes" I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them in with some Copic markers.This turned out to be one of my favorite cards in the collection. Come to think of it, I have a lot of "favorites" this year! Oh well, I guess you can't have too many of those can you?!!

I added a small strip of light blue card stock that I had punched with the threading waters edge punch. I did a little more embossing with the sentiment using some white powder. I added the stitched ribbon from PTI and finished the card. 
I didn't think these patterns lent themselves very well to a lot of images, so I opted to just put the sentiment in the center. Kristina used a a dimensional sticker for her center image on her Night Before Christmas card that took up a little more space in her center than mine did. I also decided to add a ribbon at the bottom because I just thought my bottom portion was a little bare. I hope you like it and thank you so much for visiting with me today. This stamp is from a set I bought last year at Michael's. It is by Recollections and is called "Christmas Flourish" I did not provide a link below because I don't believe it's available this year. I couldn't find any place on line that sold it. I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored it in with Copic markers before adding the gold stickles. I cut the scallop circle using an SVG file for my cricut and the "Joy" stickers are from American Crafts. This was a very easy card to do and I hope you like it as much as I do!
I think as a small girl, that was the one rule of fashion, I just never quite understood! In the crafting world though, red and pink are not only acceptable, they are encouraged and embraced. Yay!! I made a couple of other changes from the original card as well by using some scalloped pattern paper instead of punching an edge. I also used a wider ribbon; but I had a hard time getting it to tie in a bow and lay the way I wanted it to, so I decided to use some gold cord and tie that in a bow instead. All in all, a simple card that was a lot of fun to make!!
