Details to come....(now they're here with another card too!)

Hi All!

Ok, so I didn't get a chance to get back yesterday; but I've already been busy stamping this morning. First let me post the details about yesterday's card and then we'll get to today's. This card combines Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge as well as the Sponged Sky tutorial also from SCS. This was a fairly easy technique to do. I'm not sure if mine turned out as well as some other examples I've seen; but I think it's not too bad. I also used the rock n' roll technique with the butterfly from Garden Whimsy. If you saw the card yesterday, you'll notice that the one here today is a bit different. That is because I actually went back and added the paper piercing around the top edge. I think it added just a bit of oomph to finish it off.
Now, onto my card for today. I stop by and visit the Zindorff brayer blog quite often. I'm usually too scared to even attempt to try to do one. This morning, however, I decided to jump in there and just give it a shot. Now, mine is not nearly as wonderful as hers; but for a complete brayering amateur I think I did ok. I had to tweak some things because I didn't have the exact same materials. If you get a chance, check out her blog and try one of her tutorials. I am off now to get ready to run some errands. I will try to come back tomorrow for the WSC and the OCC challenges.
Have a great day!

Trying Something New

Good Afternoon!

I hope you are all having a fabulous day! My birthday was quite wonderful, except for the fact that I pulled a muscle in my neck and could barely move! Still, my mom made my favorite dinner for me, Shepherd's Pie and I had a nice cake and then I got a new cookbook and an Ipod Shuffle., which I've already downloaded songs to!
This morning I decided to make a card for my sister, whose dog passed away suddenly from a heart attack yesterday morning. For those of you who have animals, and have lost them you know how hard that can be. I thought it would be nice to try a Zindorff braying technique tutorial. this was the first time I'd had the courage to try it. It was actually pretty simple because the directions were so detailed and step by step. I think for my first time, it didn't turn out too badly. I adjusted a few things about the picture, but for the most part followed it step by step. Hey, why re-invent the wheel right? If you've not tried one of her tutorials, I encourage you to give it a try. They're not nearly as intimidating as they first appear.
Ok, so having company for dinner tonight, so lots to do. I will be back again tomorrow. Until then, have a great day and thanks for visiting with me!.
