A New Challenge..."Just Because"

Good Morning my wonderful paper-crafting friends! Wow, what a hot day yesterday! Our AC broke late Monday afternoon and I wasn't able to get anyone to repair it until about 4pm yesterday afternoon. Believe me, San Antonio is not the place to be without AC!! Anyhow, I wasn't going to stamp anything; but then I decided that I really needed something to distract me from the fact it was sooo hot in my house. This card is for a new challenge that I found through Anne's "Creative Antics" blog. I had seen the sketch from EBTKS 21 a couple of days ago and I really liked it, so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm also using my brand new Paper Trey Ink papers. I couldn't believe how quickly they arrived in the mail. This is the first time I have ordered paper from a company other than SU! I have to say I am so far very pleased. I intend to be using it a lot over the next week! For this card, I started with a standard size So Saffron base and then added a scallop circle in Melon Berry using Petite scallop circle nestabilities. I cut a 2 7/8 circle from vanilla paper and stamped the tree from SU's "Lovely as a Tree." I used "Peeled Paint" and "Antique Linen" distress inks to sponge color over and around the image. A piece of Simply Chartreuse paper measuring 2 1/8 x 4 1/4 was embossed using the Argyle Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the card I wrapped a piece of Melon Berry Satin ribbon around it. Finally, I added the copper eyelets to the scalloped saffron edge at the bottom. The sentiment in the top and bottom corners are from Hero Arts "Everyday Sayings." The inside is super simple, so no explanation really required there. Still, I am proud of myself for sticking to my plan to make sure I do the inside!
Well, that's all for me. Have a great afternoon and I hope you are able to find time to be creative today.
