Good Morning!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was good. I took the kids to the pool early in the day and then we had a wicked storm late into the afternoon and lost power for a while. This was actually OK, because it translated into a dinner out because...hey can't cook if the oven won't turn on!!
Anyhow, yesterday I was able to do a bit of crafting while all the boys in my life spent some time at the pool. I figured between swimming lessons and the time at the pool Saturday, I'd logged enough hours at the pool for a little while!
This card I'm sharing today is an usual card for me. As you can see, it's all white. One of my challenges for the day (see list below) was to use a white on white scheme with just a pop of color in the sentiment or image. I think that white on white cards can be very elegant; but you have to remember that because every layer is the same color (or lacks color....however you prefer to think of it) you have to make each layer distinctive from the next. I have found the best way to do this is to add various forms of texture, which is what I did. For the first layer (not including the card base) I used my Inkadinkado Polka Dot stamp and embossed it on the white card stock using Versa Mark and irridescent embossing powder, so it's all sparkly when you move it around. I embossed the next two layers with different embossing folders. I wanted to add a bit more dimension, so I cut two circles using my Petite scallop circle nestablitlies before adding the layer of flowers. I added the sentiment, which is an old stamp from SU and completed the card!
I hope you like it! Thanks for sharing part of your day with me, and I'll see ya tomorrow!!

Glad we're Friends
Hi Everyone!
Just here to share a quick card with you. Sorry I haven't been around much this week. It's been a busy week; but I did find time yesterday to put a quick card together for this week's Color Throw Down challenge. When I saw the colors, I just knew I had to put something together for it. I love this combination of Grey, Pumpkin Pie, Red and Vanilla. Now, my flower in the middle for some reason looks more blue in the picture than it does in real life. It's actually grey, I promise!
Anyhow, I'm going to try to do some more crafting today, so I better get busy with all the domestic stuff I need to do before I can play!
Color Throwdown: Color Challenge #204
House that Stamps Built: Sketch
Simon Says Stamp: and play Bingo (I chose diecuts, free, glitter)
Stamp n Doodle: Button
Just a few challenges for this card. Enjoy your day, and I'll be back soon!

Rainy Day Crafting
Hi Everyone!
It was an overcast, cloudy rainy day yesterday here, so I thought it would be a perfect day to do some crafting. I decided to go to my mom's house and spend some time with her. She's a crafter as well; but we haven't had anytime to stamp together since I moved back here close to her.
I was able to make two cards and was pleased as punch with both of them! So for this first card, I used "I heart 2 Stamp's" August Sketch (FYTT) The paper I used is from my mom's stash (I think the pattern paper came from K&company). The sentiment and the butterfly are from Verve's "Blue Skies" set. I thought it was oddly appropriate that as I was carrying the cards inside after returning from my mom's house, that a raindrop fell right onto the sentiment. I guess the rain wanted to be a true part of the sentiment as well! When I send the card to someone, I'll redo the sentiment; but for now I'm keeping the raindrop!
Challenges for this card include:
Catch the Bug: Anything Goes
That Craft Place: Things with wings
The second card for today is one I'll be giving to a family in my husband's office who recently had a baby girl. Sometimes, you don't always have to have the exact words on a card for it to be perfectly acceptable. I loved this pattern paper (again from my mom's stash) and thought the stamp and sentiment from Verve's "Joyful Blooms" set was perfect for a baby card. This card was simple; but I think it's rather elegant as well.
Challenges for this card include:
Card Positioning Systems "Sketch"
Stamping Sisters in Christ: Baby or pastels
Challenge up Your Life: Anything goes
Our Creative Corner: Bling it up and an item from nature (my flower is my nature item)
Have a great day everyone! Thanks for visiting with me.

I used papers from Basic Grey, and PTI as well as stamps from Hero Arts. Lots of challenges for this card, so let me just jump right in here with the links and try to get them all here before I'm off and running with the kids to swimming lessons!
