You Fill My Day with Color (Copic Coloring Blending)

Hi Everyone!

So, my intention for this project was to enter into the Paper Trey Ink Sampler Square Challenge. However, upon completing the project, I realized that I failed to use any PTI products. (Whoops!)  So, I will just count this as my day 11 entry for the Daily Marker Color Challenge.

I really wanted to do some Copic Color Blending. Now, let me clear...I have very limited supply of Copic Markers. I downloaded and printed out Sandy Allnock's Hex chart for Copics and filled it out, and let me tell you...it is a sad sad state of affairs! However, I really wanted to see if I could make it work. So, I downloaded the Copic Color wheel:

Then I looked at it in terms of what I call "color groups" that I thought would blend together. I decided to do a Red, Yellow Red, and Yellow group; a Blue, Blue Violet and Violet group; and finally a Blue and Green group. I had intended to do a blue green with that group as well; but the only blue -green marker I have was too dark.
I decided that the middle square of each row was going to be the blending of the two color groups and then the outer ones would be just blending of each of the one color. So, for the top row I chose the following colors: BV02, BV04, V12, V15, V17
The middle row is Y18, YR04, YR68, R22, R24, R27
The bottom row is B00, B02, B05, G05, G07, G09

As you can see, I tried to stay within the same numerical value one up or one down. (with the exception of the YR68; but that still worked out ok)

I have no real method to my blending techniques...I just kept playing around and coloring each square until I was happy. I decided to just make this a front panel and not an actual card. Since it's a little larger, I may frame it and give it as a gift later.

Ok, so that is all for me today. Have a great weekend and I'll see you all again soon!
