Some New Goodies

Good Afternoon Everyone!

The great thing about your mom ordering stuff from you as a SU demonstrator is that she doesn't mind if you play with her goodies before you give them to her! So that is what I decided to do this morning. For this particular card I used a piece of Garden Green as my base and then layered on a strip of Black at the top, followed by a piece of Pumpkin Pie. This card also incorporates two things that are brand new for me. The first is the Brayered background. The Brayer has been on my wish list for a while; and I finally got it. I took a piece of Whisper White paper and cut a circle from scratch paper and placed it in the corner to act as a mask for the moon. Then I brayered a layer of Certain Celery ink at the bottom. I ripped a piece of scratch paper and placed it on the top of the paper and brayered a strip of So Saffron ink and then I turned the scratch paper upside down, covering the Celery and Saffron, then I brayered a layer of Night of Navy ink. I thought the Saffron strip was too light, so I sponged a bit of Mustard ink across it. I colored in the moon with Summer Sun marker and sponged over that also with Mustard ink. The stars are free hand and cut out.
The second part of the card, which is new for me was the Jumbo Haunting Wheel. As I recently told you, I am still finding my comfort zone with the wheel. This was the one that my Mom ordered. I simply inked it up with the black cartridge, and rolled it across my brayered background. Some simple alphabet stamps to make the sentiment at the bottom and a spooky spider sticker finish the card.
Beate has posted her weekend sketch; but I probably won't have time to get to it today. I will be away for the evening and I have much to do between now and the time I leave. Hopefully I will be able to do it tomorrow morning; but if not, I'll post it first thing Monday Morning. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting with me!

LOL at playing with your moms stuff! Great card. I, too, recently got a brayer! Check out the card challenge technique at the Shanty on Wednesday!
