Sorry I didn't get a chance to come back and post this card yesterday. If you didn't read yesterday's post, check it out here. I am selling some of my old and some current Stampin Up sets if any one is interested. I spent the rest of the day working on some other projects for our upcoming church bazaar. A lot of which are 3D objects that are hard for me to photograph.
This is my card for this week's SCS sketch challenge. It was a very easy sketch to work with and honestly it all came together quite quickly. I started with a standard 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 Basic Grey card base. I added a 5 1/4 x 4 layer of Real Red, which I ran through my cuttlebug with the circles folder. The black piece is 3 7/8 x 3 3/8 with a layer of Basic Grey measuring 3 1/2 x 3 on top of it. Next, I added a piece of 3 1/8 x 4 1/4 Blue Bayou card stock in the middle. I made the floral image in the middle by stamping the "Floral" Background stamp from SU in Real Red ink on Glossy white cardstock. I made sure to let it dry before trimming it to 2 7/8 x 4 3/8.
The triangles on each side were made from a 1 1/2 inch black square and 1 1/4 Blue Bayou square which I cut in half to make into triangles. The "Forever Friend" sentiment is two words from SU's "Fundamental Phrases" set, which I stamped in black ink and matted with Real Red and Basic Grey. Finally, I added some white stitching lines around the card to complete it.
So, there you have it. I was pleased with the way it turned out. I'd love to know what you think, though. Have a great day everyone!
