I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was good. Yesterday was quite busy; and truth be told, I'm quite happy that everyone has gone to school and work today! I am still working on my challenges for the Anni-VERVE-sary celebration going on over at the Verve Blog. If you're playing along also, remember you have until this Friday to get all your creations completed and uploaded to the proper SCS gallery etc.I can't wait for Friday when all the new sets will be available in the Verve Store.
CASE study challenge. The challenge this time was to CASE a member of the design team. Well, for me this was a no brainer! I chose one of my all time favorite stampers and bloggers, the uber talented Teresa Kline. Seriously, this girl's creations....well, they just make my heart flutter! LOVE her! This is the card I chose to CASE from Teresa. She blogged it recently here in this post; and I just thought it was beautiful. Sometimes CASEing a card can be tricky because the idea is that you use another persons design to create your own without necessarily just copying what the original person did. For me, I knew right away that I wanted to keep the Eiffel Tower image as a focus, so I used a set called "Vintage Traveler" from Our Craft Lounge and I tried to also keep the basic color scheme with the neutrals and pinks and light green/blues.I also wanted to keep the basic layout of the card as well. I used Dark Chocolate, Sage Shadow, Kraft, some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment at the bottom is from Verve's "Tag Time". I roughed up the edges and then did a bit of distressing with Victorian Velvet, and Vintage Photo distress inks. Finally, I added the flower and button embellishment and completed the card.
I was quite pleased with the final result; and I hope you all like it as well!
